Dubai Racing Club
TNT Express has worked with the Dubai Racing Club since 2000. Dubai’s horseracing season runs from November to March. It includes the Dubai International Racing Carnival, a 10-week racing extravaganza that concludes with the Dubai World Cup – the world’s richest horse race - on the last Saturday of March. The total prize money for the Carnival exceeds US$31 million and in 2006, more than 200 internationally-renowned race horses took part.
TNT is responsible for sending documents and non-documents to more than 27 countries around the world – including tickets and badges for international VIP guests for the race meetings. TNT also ships the precious trophies from Dubai on behalf of winning jockeys, trainers and owners as well as more usual documents such as racing contracts and various marketing materials.
“Our distribution needs are vast and complicated, but the racing industry dictates that we get everything absolutely right,” says Claire Walker, Sponsorship and Site Services Manager, Dubai Racing Club. “TNT listens to us and responds to our every need, such as advising us on how to package trophies which make them easier to inspect and appropriate for travel through the delivery system, as well as helping to get our metal badges through US customs without delays. The day-to-day account management and customer service is outstanding.”

Arrow International
Arrow International is a world leader in the production of disposable medical products, particularly catheters. Catheter products are used on patients principally to access the central vascular system for administration of fluids, drugs and blood products, although they are also used for patient monitoring and diagnosis.
TNT has worked with Arrow International for three years, initially in the Netherlands, but more recently in Belgium since Arrow has established a new European Distribution Center (EDC) in Tongeren, close to TNT’s European Air Hub in Liège. TNT is responsible for shipping medical products to around 400 hospitals throughout Italy using both Global Express and Economy Express. It also carries a weekly shipment to Arrow’s warehouse in Greece.
“Service quality is our number one priority. Our shipments are delicate because of the sterile product. If they arrive at the hospitals crushed or dirty, sterilization can not be guaranteed anymore and so products cannot be used,” says Bob Luijendijk, Operations Manager Europe. “Lead times are also crucial and in Italy, TNT’s comprehensive domestic network is second to none. TNT was very helpful when we sorted out all or customers’ zip codes we were delivering to in Italy, so that we could maximise our cost/service ratio.”
