TNT opens road hub in Wuhan, China
Wuhan, China, TNT today inaugurated a road hub in Wuhan, Hubei Province, which will improve its road distribution network in central China. The regional hub will be managed by TNT’s wholly owned subsidiary TNT Hoau. The facility marks another milestone in the development of TNT’s Chinese domestic delivery arm, following the introduction of a day-definite ground service in February 2009. TNT plans to open 10 regional road hubs over the next five years to tap on China’s growing domestic economy, which is still expected to grow by at least 6.5% in 2009.

TNT Post in Germany broadens household coverage through a strategic partnership with the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group
Amsterdam, Today TNT Post Germany strengthens its position by acquiring shares in the regional mail companies of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group. TNT Post currently covers around 90% of Germany with a nationwide delivery network. For this network TNT works together with a lot of distribution partners and in key economic areas TNT has its own network covering around 26% of German households. With this strategic partnership TNT Post increases this coverage for the distribution of letter mail items to more than 40% of all German households and will benefit from further regional growth potential. Combining the local companies of Georg von Holtzbrinck with TNT Post’s expertise and national infrastructure will create a platform for further increase of market share and innovation. Both parties are convinced that this combination will deliver value for money for the customers.

TNT Express starts international road freight and parcel delivery service to four eastern and central European countries
Amsterdam, TNT Express has started international road connections to Belarus, Moldova, Macedonia, and Albania. The new routes allow for a significant upgrade to the company’s Economy Express service to and from these countries.
