TNT increases express capacity between Asia and Europe
Hong Kong, Liege, TNT is enhancing its service capacity between China and Europe with the addition of a new dedicated B747-400ER freighter. Non-stop flights will operate between Hong Kong and TNT’s European air hub in Belgium. This allows for seamless connectivity with TNT’s leading air and road network for delivery throughout Europe. The company can thus offer its customers fast transit times, control and visibility over shipments moving between Asia and Europe, while optimising its costs and fleet utilisation.

Urgenda, TNT, Eneco and Tendris launch a tender for 3000 electric vehicles in three years
Amersfoort, Night of Sustainability – Initiative takers Urgenda, TNT, Eneco and Tendris launch a tender for electronic vehicles. Together with the pioneering consortium partners ABN AMRO, Delta, Essent, Facilicom, the Municipality of Rotterdam, the Municipality of Leeuwarden, ING, JCDecaux, the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, NUON, Philips, Port of Rotterdam, the Province of Friesland and Triodos Bank today almost 3000 cars were ordered. For this purpose, a new independent purchasing consortium of Dutch companies and organisations has been established under the supervision of the Urgenda Foundation. The consortium's objective is to challenge car manufacturers to manufacture electronic transport on a large scale by creating a large scale, continuous and substantial demand. Companies and organisations are invited to participate in the tender.

TNT on top of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for third consecutive year
Amsterdam, TNT NV was named today as global ‘Supersector leader’ for ‘Industrial Goods and Services’ (including ‘Industrial transportation’) of the 2009 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). Moreover, TNT earned the highest score of all companies included in the DJSI for the third consecutive year. These are the conclusions of a report published in Zurich by SAM, a sustainability investment specialist, which assessed the sustainability performance of over 1,000 listed companies.
