Statement on terrorist attacks in the USA
12 September 2001 - TPG sends its deepest sympathies to all who have been affected by the tragic events in the USA..</p><p>Please note the following in regards to TPG's ongoing operations:
- The European Express air network continues to operate at full capability despite an increase in security measures at many airports.
- TPG operations in the USA are largely truck-based and thus have not been materially impacted by the closedown of air transportation within the USA. Levels of operating efficiency have been maintained.
- Although Express transatlantic consignments could not be transported last week due to the shutdown of American airspace, the financial impact on TPG was negligible due to the relatively small percentage of total express business this represents and the highly variable nature of all associated transportation costs.
- TPG has invested heavily during the last two years in security solutions and will continue to take proactive steps to safeguard our customers’ interests and provide the highest standards in the industry.
At this stage, the longer term impact on the global economic situation is uncertain. Developments will continue to be monitored closely.
