DHL and TNT expand in Russia

28 August 2009

TNT Express Russia has extended the geographical coverage of its special services for delivery of dangerous and sensitive goods to Khabarovsk and Vladivostok in the Far East.

Customers in the chemical, oil and other industries can now profit from this latest expansion shipping paint materials, refined products, chemicals and fertilisers among others. All regional centres employ certified specialists with necessary skills in transportation of sensitive shipments.

In addition, TNT offers customers special marking and packaging materials necessary for delivery, thus ensuring secure transportation and faultless identification in the delivery process.

“We are expanding our service portfolio in the Russian regions while keeping in mind the increasing needs of our customers and demand for certain services,” said Juri Pavljuk, Director Marketing and Sales for TNT Express in Russia. “The introduction of special services in the Far East is based on our long-term experience in transportation of dangerous shipments,” he added.

Separately, DHL teamed up with a network of multifunctional refuelling complexes (MASK) operating under the global brand BP in St. Petersburg to provide 24/7 reception of express shipments.

The partnership with MASK BP will enable DHL to expand its network of shipment receptions in the second biggest city of Russia offering its customers a completely new approach to express delivery services.

Currently, DHL operates receiving points at two BP complexes in St. Petersburg round the clock for documents not exceeding 5 kg.

In the future, DHL plans to expand its service range and to increase the number of DHL mini-points at BP outlets, the company said in a statement.
